A booster transformer is used at end of the transmission line to increase the voltage to the desired value. The main function of the booster transformer is to compensate for the voltage drop in transmission when the transmission line is away from the source. A booster transformer is a device that is used to boost the voltage from the low level to the desired level. Construction of booster transformer The booster transformer is consist of primary and secondary windings. The secondary winding of the booster transformer is connected in series with the transmission line whose voltage shall be controlled and the primary of the booster transformer is supplied from the secondary of the regulating transformer.

A distribution transformer is the type of transformer that performs the last voltage transformation in a distribution grid. It converts the voltage used in the transmission lines to one suitable for household and commercial use, typically down to 240 volts.[1] These transformers are pole-mounted if the transmission lines run above ground (see figure 1), and they are pad-mounted (see figure 2) if the transmission lines lie underground, as is the case in many suburban areas. The pad-mounted transformer is usually green and visible on the front lawns of many homes. Every utility pole has a grounding wire. There is also a grounding wire that accompanies the two 120 volt hot wires that come from the transformer. These two 120 volt wires are 180° out of phase so that if both electric currents are used, there is a combined voltage of 240 volts. This allows for both 120-volt and 240-volt devices to be powered by the same distribution grid.[1]

Furnace transformers supply power to electric furnaces of various types like Arc furnace, Induction arc, Submerged arc, Rectifier duty & Ladle furnace transformers. In order withstand repeated short – circuit conditions and high thermal stress and to be protected from operational voltages resulting from the arc process, these transformers are designed after considering demanding conditions. The furnace transformer supplying power to furnace has to handle extremely high value currents in the order of kAmps depending upon furnace ratings.

Transformers are critical components in solar energy production and distribution. Historically, transformers have “stepped-up” or “stepped-down” energy from non-renewable sources. There are different types of solar transformers including distribution, station, sub-station, pad mounted and grounding. All solar transformers have specialized needs that impact costs. For example, solar power applications experience steady state loading during inverter operation. When the sun’s out, there’s a dampened reaction process and more constant loading on the transformer.

If you work in a power plant or power grid station or are familiar with such kind of power generation or power transmission system, you must know the function of the station transformer or auxiliary transformer. I feel obliged to answer this question for those who are a little bit far from this kind of working field. Let it make it easier to understand the station transformer, assuming that you have some basic knowledge about how a power plant or power grid station, or substation works. Any electrical or mechanical device may go out of order at any time. In such a situation you cannot afford a plant shut down due to the failure of any device. Station or auxiliary transformers are invariably used in all Grid Sub-Stations & Power plants. The KVA ratings of station transformers are normally 100 KVA, 33/0.4 kV. It is connected to the 33kV Main /Transfer Bus bar in the Grid substation with required protection & control.

A dry type transformer is defined as a transformer that does not use any liquid as an insulating or cooling medium for its windings or core. Instead, the windings and core are enclosed in a sealed tank that is filled with air or gas under pressure. Dry type transformers are widely used in various industries and applications because of their safety, reliability, and environmental benefits. They can operate in harsh conditions such as high humidity, fire risk, and seismic events without compromising their performance or posing any hazard to people or property.

Lighting Transformers are designed to supply power to lighting equipments in a commercial / industrial / domestic unit. It's primary supply connected to higher voltage 3Ph source and secondary is to be connected to load. Lighting transformers serves as isolation between primary and secondary, it also restricts any high voltage spikes and EMF coming with the raw mains incoming power. Lighting Transformers are very useful when system neutral is not available or faulty i.e where incoming supply is 3 phase 3 n wire and lighting load is 220 Volt single phase. It also restricts short circuit current in the load and saves major accidents. Power House lighting transformers are made with CRGO laminations and Electrolytic copper super enameled winding wires. They are available for wide range of inputs out are in the range and in capacity from 1K VA to 100 KVA. Construction : Lighting Transformers are two winding transformers with both windings made of copper. Electrolytic grade super enameled wire with best insulations are used. Core material are CRGO Strip cores. Experienced hands with best machines for winding ensures best results with minimum size. Appropriate class of insulation materials are used. Transformers are impregnated in insulating varnish for long lasting performance. Input and output are terminated on Glass Epoxy board with proper size of terminals. For Lighting Transformers greater than 30 KVA, usually a separate M.S Enclosure with temperature indicator is provided as shown in the drawing..

Traditional single-phase power wiring consists of a hot wire, a neutral wire, and a ground wire. When multiple, physically separated devices share a common power line, it is possible to create ground loops due to devices having different ground potentials. These ground loops are especially problematic in medical devices and can be troublesome during device test. For designers, it is difficult to measure ground loops with devices that use rectified line voltages. Grounded test equipment, like oscilloscopes, can inadvertently short power supplies in these devices. Also, high frequency noise can ride on AC power lines causing problems for sensitive transducers and instruments. All these problems can be avoided by the proper application of isolation transformers between the power input and the device. Isolation transformers provide separation from the power line ground connection to eliminate ground loops and inadvertent test equipment grounding. They also suppress high frequency noise riding on the power source.

A temperature chamber is a controlled environment capable of producing conditions that a product will encounter during its use. These highly controlled technical tools are able to produce the types of hazards, uses, and atmospheres a product may endure. To determine the lifespan of a product, temperature chambers are able to create conditions that simulate a product’s usage life by rapidly aging it. Temperature chambers provide companies with the opportunity to examine how a product will react when put through the most adverse conditions. The ability to perform and create these situations can forestall introducing a product into the market that is unable to meet customer expectations.

These units are primarily used in applications which require rapid drying and sterilization. Totally homogenous temperature distribution, rapid dynamic response and a special air turbine developed by us which has higher output have made it a genuine time-saving device. They are also used to measure the loss on drying & are also referred to as LOD Ovens or Hot Air Ovens. Units are equipped with Stainless steel trays, high quality PT-100 sensor & a microprocessor based controlling system with 2 line alphanumerical LED display. Alarms are generated for any deviations. The PID controller comes with an integrated timer functionality from 0 to 99 hours for ramp & soak functionality.

An industrial oven is a device used to create high temperatures to heat treat parts, condition metals, and cure metal coatings. The two main types of industrial ovens are continuous and batch. As the name batch implies, batch industrial ovens treat large numbers of parts at the same time. Continuous industrial ovens are normally a part of mass production and may include heating and cooling functions. The operating for industrial ovens depend on how they are used. Gas, electricity, steam, hot water, microwaves, or fuel oil batch or conveyor loaded industrial ovens.
